The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), the umbrella organization for the attractions industry worldwide, proudly staged another Euro Attractions Show (EAS), Europe's largest trade fair dedicated to this sector which is held once a year. It took place from 18th through 20th September 2013 in Paris, or to be more precise, at Porte de Versailles Convention Centre in the south of the beautiful French capital city. Additional events rounded off the offer and made eyes sparkle with joy.

This year's fair itself was a great success for the organizers. A record 393 exhibitors from more than 40 countries called for a spatial extension, also the number of 8,500 visitors speaks volumes. The exhibit floor represented a 10 % increase over EAS 2012 which was hosted in Berlin.

An EAS offer that quickly found broad approval was the supporting programme: Tours and special events were sold out. Over 300 industry professionals toured and studied world- renowned attractions in France including Disneyland Paris, Parc Asterix, Puy du Fou, Futuroscope and Les Machines de l'île in Nantes. The latter three could be visited as part of a two-day-tour, whereas Disneyland tour participants benefitted from an impressive behind-the-scence look at the theme park's safety programme and learned a lot about operation in general. Parc Asterix was exclusively open to EAS tour participants, giving them enough time to enjoy the park and its newest attraction: the roller coaster OzIris.

Another sold-out offer was the EAS Opening Reception that made itself home at Musée des Arts Forains at Paris-Bercy this year. Over 1,200 enthusiastic participants let themselves be enchanted by the unique setting and didn't miss the opportunity to check out its historical and operational rides and games from the last century. The conference programme was a success, too: More than 1,500 participants – 25 % more than last year – got interesting information on the latest trends and developments in the industry.

Euro Attractions Show 2014 will take place at the RAI Convention Center in Amsterdam. More than 230 companies have already reserved 7,800 square metres of exhibit space.
