About five years ago, Disney California Adventure Park at Anaheim, California, confirmed their new "Cars Land" opening in the next few days. The centerpiece of the whole area is "Radiator Springs Racers", a new ride based on the Orlando Test Track system, marking a new level of general theming.

Around $200.000.000 have been invested by the park for "Cars Land" – more than a lot of theme parks spend for rides in years. The area includes not only the little town Radiator Springs and a massive mountain structure shown in the two Pixar animation movies, but also a race track with a darkride part. After visiting the nightly Radiator Springs and getting introduced to the race, guests may compete in electric motor driven vehicles reaching a top speed of 40 mph. Be also prepared to meet Lightning McQueen, the old Doc Hudson, dopey Mater and the funny Italian garage duo Luigi and Guido. 23 complex animatronics come to life by using projection units, the design of the scenes is state-of-the-art.

In the last five years fans got excited about the project, each new construction photo published in the web was a proof that Disney was buliding a ride setting new theming standards. After a pre-opening with cast members it is more than obvious that "Radiator Springs Racers" is without any doubt the masterpiece everyone was hoping for, gaining a lot of public attention and likely creating higher visitor numbers. It's quite a shame that European Disney fans will propably never get such a ride at Disneyland Resort Paris.
