Attractions and short trips in Lithuania

Lithuania is situated along the southeastern shore of the Baltic Sea and borders Latvia, Belarus, Poland and the Russian exclave Kalingrad Oblast. Since 1st May 2004, Lithuania - the most southern of the Baltic country - is a member state of the European Union.

In particular, the city tourism in Lithuania is booming. Among the most popular cities are the capital, Vilnius, with its historical city centre and Trakai being the capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania from 1316 - 1323. In addition, travelling throughout this Baltic state is comparatively inexpensive.
