Located within a spectacular landscape, Wildlife Prairie State Park covers over 1,700 acres (690 hectares), and has often been referred to as a jewel of the midwest. The zoological park primarily houses wildlife animals native to Illinois. Moreover, Wildlife Prairie State Park offers a variety of education programs to a variety of age levels. A motel, restaurant, and other attractions can also be found on its grounds.
Opening hours and pricing
Wildlife Prairie State Park is open daily from late May to early September from 9am to 6:30pm. Core hours during the remaining months are from 10am to 4:30pm; from mid-December through late February it opens on weekends only. The ticket gate closes one hour prior to closing.
