LEGOLAND California is the first and only LEGOLAND theme park in the United States, and in contrast to most theme parks in California, it's specifically designed for children of 3 to 12 years age. Here on the west coast of the sunshine state they relied on the proven concept from Billund, Denmark, so one finds here the LEGO attractions known from Europe. More than 50 millions of the popular coloured bricks from Denmark were used in this theme park in Carlsbad.

LEGOLAND® California is open 5 days a week from 10am until a minimum of 5pm, closing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but is open daily during specific holiday periods.

Our kids loved it!
I’ve visited Legoland California together with my boys, both under 10 years old, so they loved the experience. It’s actually the best age for kids to have when they go there. You will find that the rides are designed with the kids in mind, so the adults coming there by themselves will not have that much fan. If you’re going to a theme park specifically to make your kids happy, then Legoland is a great choice. It’s well thought out, one of the details that shows that being that the kids have a play area with legos to keep them busy while their parents are waiting in line :-)

I have always been a great fan of Lego and love to be creative when putting the bricks together. The Leogolandparks are such an inspiration for me. This one in California I like the most, because it brings so much fun to ride the attractions in the warm summer sun. A great idea is to integrate a water park, so you can have a splash inbetween riding coasters, exploring the landscape with its various Lego models or just hang out with your family and friends. My favourite attraction is "The Dragon", because this roller coaster combines great Lego models with a thrilling gravity course. Especially my kids love it!
