Having been built in the year 1934, Belfast Zoological Gardens, located at the foot of Cave Hill, provides its guests with a spectacular vista over Belfast Lough and gives visitors a true hiking experience on account of its sometimes very steep paths. But of course what takes centre stage in Belfast Zoological Gardens are the animals and plants, of which there reside more than 1,200 individuals of over 140 species in the different areas of the zoo, namely Bird Park, Giraffe and Elephant enclosure, Rainforest House, Lake Side and Plants and Gardens.

A lovely and modern zoo with wide enclosures. And there are perfect places for a picnic. But don't visit on holidays, the queues can be long then.
